Goal: New Generation of ANC Headphones

As the first Flagship ANC Headphones fully designed in Yamaha, the E-Series needed to make a statement if they were to be noticed in this crowded market. My proposal for the new E-Series Headphones took the market feedback and the product target’s needs and translated Yamaha’s philosophy into a sophisticated solution.

My version for a E-Series comes from the ideals and values of a “Lifelong Partner” and it’s defined by a timeless, dynamic flow design so present in the essence of the musical instruments from Yamaha.

Adding robustness and lightness to a timeless and sophisticated design turn the E-Series into a wearable that perfectly represents Yamaha, and is ideal for most situations on the daily life of an always on the move, never stuck to a daily routine, new generation of users.


Expressing True Sound, a unique value of Yamaha products and history.

In a highly competitive market, none other has the unique history and values that make Yamaha, particularly in the music and sound market. The intention for this design is to shape the value of True Sound into a product intended to be a Lifelong Partner, thus timeless and of of higher quality, visually and physically.

 

Ideation.

Various sessions of Ideation and user interviews allowed me to continue to Iterate until reaching the desired shape, one that best represents the value we want to express.

Compact, Foldable and Portable.

Designing Headphones meant to be Lifelong Partners means being able to carry them everywhere. We research user behaviour and considered the best way to do it, in the point of view of design and engineering, and applied our insights into the product, a slim shaped, compact folding headphones.
