SUAC, the Shizuoka Universtity of Art and Culture, Japan, invited CasaPerry to make a lecture in design and the design life to it’s students studying on this field. After serving as a Jury for the 2019 finalist’s project presentations, CasaPerry now comes to introduce it’s background, past work and the differences in design and life in different countries.

The 50 minute lecture for the ~30 students present included insights into the foreigner point of view in Japan’s lifestyle and design, comparisons between portuguese, italian and dutch design philosophies and the work we have been doing to adapt and succeed throughout this life’s journey. Also aimed at improving the students english speaking ability, the lecture was followed by a Q&A session with many students interested about life abroad, design in and outside Japan and how a foreigner sees the present and future of japanese design.

We at CasaPerry are thankful to SUAC for the invitation and hope to have contributed to increased interest and awareness of the design life and the importance of the English language.

CasaPerry

His childhood dream was to be a designer. That path proved to be not an easy one coming from Portugal, but it was a rewarding path of experiences and constant growth. Now with about 10 years of working experience the feelings towards design are mixed, but exciting as he continues to move forward and solidifying his own style.
